Ron Kolb

Ron Kolb is a former daily newspaper report and editor with more than 30 years of experience managing University of California communications programs, including 13 at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He retired from UC in 2007 and now serves in a part-time capacity to help Assistant Director Susan Jenkins with the EBI’s news and publicity programs.

In his current capacity at EBI, Kolb is responsible for overseeing the EBI website, serving as spokesperson and issuing news announcements for the press, producing EBI’s public newsletter (The Bulletin), overseeing communications for internal and external events, and developing collateral materials, which has included Bioenergy Connection magazine, annual reports, e-newsletters, brochures and posters. He also served as Public Information Officer at UC Riverside for 10 years, and as Head for News and Communications for the UC Office of the President for nine years.

Ron also volunteers his time writing and producing a newsletter for the Mark Twain Papers program on campus, which has recently produced two of the projected three volumes of Twain’s definitive autobiography. He is a journalism graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.
